Our Uji matcha powder is sourced 100% from Greater Kyoto, Japan, a region renowned for its production of matcha. Located in the southern part of Kyoto, Uji is said to produce the best matcha among other renowned Japanese matcha-growing regions such as Shizuoka, Kagoshima, and Nishio, as well as worldwide, thanks to the region's unique climate and soil conditions, along with the expertise of its tea farmers.
The leaves used in our Uji matcha powder are the first crop of the season, and are freshly ground in a stone mill, creating a much finer powder than machine-mills. This ceremonial-grade matcha powder is suitable for a variety of applications, including lattes, matcha teas, and usucha.
